The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has issued a statewide Amber Alert earlier today for four missing Boyle Heights children.
According to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), the four children – ranging in age from one to seven – were abducted March 14 at 12:30 p.m. The Amber Alert was issued this morning.
NCMEC states the four children are Enrique Felix (7), Justin Felix (5), Janeth Felix (1), and Veronica Felix (1). Janeth and Veronica are reportedly twins.
The center also reports the children might be in a gray or purple Chrysler PT Cruiser with paper plates and a missing hub cap.
The initial Amber Alert was issued by the Los Angeles Police Dept. for the L.A. region. However, the LAPD requested the CHP expand the alert statewide.
Officials believe the suspects are the parents of the children, Rose Chairez (28) and Enrique Felix (28).
According to the Los Angeles Times, the four children were abducted from their grandmother’s home in Boyle Heights.
