Just before I moved out of the area to pursue a dream of mine, to join and live with my boyfriend in northern Italy, my beloved Ragdoll cat named Basia went missing. She meant everything to me, connecting me to my mother who passed away from Breast Cancer in 2008. Basia has a sweet disposition, beautiful seal point markings and bright blue eyes my 7 yr old, 10 lb girl is both beautiful and lovely company.
Due to her courageous and exploratory nature, she enjoyed an indoor/outdoor lifestyle with my younger male cat and never abused her freedoms, yet on Monday evening May 27, 2013 she didn’t return.
I called all the shelters, updated her Avid pet tracking chip status to lost, searched the neighborhood on foot day and night for a week, posted a Craigslist ad and put up lost posters. I even consulted with a pet psychic who has successfully found missing pets before. Nothing.
Sadly, the younger cat and I had to continue moving forward with our plans and thus boarded our plane for Italy this past Sunday. We are here and our fourth family member remains somewhere in Brentwood.
To date, Basia has not been turned in to any shelters, nor has she been found by sanitation (who also scans for chips). The psychic I consulted believes that someone who wants to keep Basia is caring for and that perhaps s/he hasn’t come across one of my posters yet….
The good news is that the minute she is found, I have a wonderful network of people in place who will take her to the vet and book her on a flight to join her family. If only she shows up….
If you have any information about Basia, please leave a comment in the section below.
