 Brentwood Crime is down 18%

 

The below listed crimes, are grouped by type, street and listed by hundred blocks, not by exact addresses.

 

Robbery (definition: Someone takes your property from you by force or fear)

None

Prevention: be aware of your surroundings don’t carry large sums of money, and never display your money or jewelry in public.

 

Burglary (definition: Someone enters a dwelling and removes your property without your permission)

8 Residences were broken into. 3 had their window or doors smashed, and 5 had left their doors and windows open. Items taken were Jewelry, coins, computer, remote, electronics, TV’s, documents, Tickets, servers, and flooring.

LOCATIONS: 500 S. Barrington Ave, 300 Chadbourne Ave, 1700 Reedvale Ln, 2200 Mandeville Canyon Lane, 2500 Westridge Road, 11700 San Vicente Blvd, 11700 Mayfield Ave, and, 13000 Baltic St..  

Prevention: Always lock your home or business and set your alarm.

 

Grand Theft Auto (definition: Someone takes your vehicle without your permission)

4 vehicles were stolen

LOCATIONS: 11600 Gorham Ave, 11700 Montana Ave, 12000 Goshen Ave, and 1100 Amherst Ave.

Prevention: Lock your vehicle, and set your alarm

 

Burglary/Theft from Motor Vehicles (definition: Someone enters your vehicle without permission)

19 vehicles were broken into last month. 1 pried door,6 were unlocked, and 12 had their windows smashed. Property taken from the vehicles were Cash, IPOD’s, Laptops, Wallets, Cell phones, Stereo, Tools, Toner, Briefcase, Credit Card, Computer, Keys, Radio,  Knives, CD’s, ID’s, Documents, Bags, Sunglasses, Music equipment, and  Handicap Pass.

LOCATIONS: 5 at 100 N. Church Lane, 100 Granville Ave, 100 S. Barrington Place, 300 S. Medio Dr., 400 S. Barrington Ave, 500 S. Barrington Ave,  800 Amherst Ave,  900 S. Baarrington Ave, 1100 S. Barrington Ave, 12300 Montana Ave, 12100 Wilshire Blvd, 12000 Chalon Rd, 11800 Gorham Ave, 11600 Gorham Ave, and 11300 Gladwin St .,     

Prevention: Do not leave anything inside your vehicle, always lock and set your vehicles alarm

 

Battery / Aggravated Assault (definition: Someone strikes you) 

4 Crimes involving victims being punched, kicked and jabbed.

LOCATIONS: 500 S. Barrington Ave, 11900 Dorothy St, 11900 San Vicente Blvd, and 13000 San Vicente Blvd

Prevention: Avoid verbal confrontations, they lead to physical confrontations 

 

Theft  (definition: Someone takes your property without your permission)

7 Crimes occurred where Rings, Cash, Bicycle, Watches, Computer, Wallet, Cell phone, Catalytic Converter were taken

LOCATIONS: 170 N. Church Ln., 700 Norway Ln, 11600 Wilshire Blvd, 11600 San Vicente Blvd, 11700 Wilshire Blvd, 11900 Montana Ave, and 11900 Goshen Ave.

Prevention: Secure all unattended property.

 

You cannot rely on the police department to combat crime, you have to protect and secure your property. Be a good neighbor, keep your eyes and ears open.  Call 911 or 877- ASK-LAPD…
