Culver City Police Make Three Arrests Routine Traffic Stops
While the Culver City Police Department officers were conducting DUI suppression operations on May 5, they made several significant arrests during routine traffic stops in various areas of Culver City.
In the vicinity of Slauson Avenue and SR-90, officers halted a vehicle for hazardous moving violations. Upon inspection, they discovered a loaded handgun beside the driver within the car. The driver was promptly taken into custody for the illegal possession of a loaded firearm in a public setting.
Shortly thereafter, an officer intercepted a bicyclist for multiple infractions in the 5000 block of Washington Boulevard. A subsequent search revealed the individual to have a considerable quantity of suspected methamphetamine. As a result, the subject was arrested for the transportation of a controlled substance.
In another incident near La Cienega Boulevard and Washington Boulevard, officers conducted a routine traffic stop. During the stop, it was uncovered that the driver was wanted for attempted murder. The individual was apprehended without resistance.
