The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose 3.8 cents today to $3.563, the 14th consecutive increase following a 41-day streak of decreases.
The average price has increased 43.3 cents over the past 14 days, including 3.6 cents on Tuesday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is 32 cents more than one week ago and 30.7 cents higher than one month ago, but 76.2 cents less than one year ago.
The Orange County average price also rose for the 14th consecutive day today following a 41-day streak of decreases, increasing 3.8 cents to $3.557, 32.8 cents more than one week ago and 34 cents higher than one month ago, but 76 cents less than one year ago.
The Orange County average price has risen 46.4 cents over the past 14 days, including 3.6 cents on Tuesday.
The recent price increases are the result of reduced supply caused by a partial reduction of production at Chevron’s Richmond refinery in Northern California following flaring on April 21, according to Jeffrey Spring, the Automobile Club of Southern California’s corporate communications manager.
