Due to an outstanding summer season, the popular and free Wednesday Workout series at Westfield Century City has extended its program until the end of October.

The outdoor pop-up exercise classes have been providing a convenient way to work out at the end of the day.

“We’ve had such a great turnout,” said Vanessa Strafaci, BurnThis ambassor and Workout Wednesday partner. “We originally were going to have this for the month of August, but we’ve ended up pushing the series out a couple more months. There are lots of studios that want to take part, and we’re trying to fill out as many Wednesdays as possible.”

Starting each Wednesday at 6:30 pm, the classes are a great way for the community to exercise after work or during a trip to the mall.

The regular event has been made possible due to the partnership with BurnThis, a mobile app that creates social networks by allowing users to discover and book fitness classes in their area and then coordinate bookings with friends.

A wide range of fitness programs and studios have been participating in the series.

Thursday, Sept. 17 was the first class of the new fall series, with Shay Kostabi teaching her intensive ReXist360 class. Kostabi designed the hit class that is sculpting bodies on both coasts of the country.

“ReXist360 is a resistance band training system,” Kostabi explained. “All of our content is available online.”

The Workout Wednesday class was Kostabi’s first time teaching ReXist360 in-person on the West Coast.

“This will be a good introduction because people will see us and hopefully ask questions” Kostabi said. “We have one studio in New York, but not in Los Angeles yet: that’s the goal.”

The upcoming fall schedule of Westfield Workout Wednesdays is as follows:

  • Sep. 24: Kimberly Fowler, Yoga for Athletes Creator
  • Oct. 1: Tony Horton, P90X Creator
  • Oct. 8: Training Mate LA, high intensity Aussie workout
  • Oct. 15: Yumi Lee, celebrity trainer to A-list stars
  • Oct. 22: Orange Theory Fitness, full body workout
  • Oct. 29: Brett Hoebel, The Biggest Loser celebrity trainer

All classes begin at 6:30 pm at Westfield Century City on the Center Court near Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf.

BurnThis app is offering specials this month to compliment the workouts. Their “3 for $30” deal, allows users to find $10 fitness classes from Los Angeles’ hottest studios.

Westfield Century City is located at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd.
