Jason Bateman (“Arrested Development”, “Ozark”) Receives Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

A star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame honoring Emmy- nominated actor Jason Bateman will be unveiled Wednesday on Hollywood Boulevard, five days after his latest project, “Ozark,” began streaming on Netflix.

Jennifer Aniston, who appeared in five films with Bateman, and Will Arnett, Bateman’s castmate on television’s “Arrested Development,” will join him in speaking in the 11:30 a.m. ceremony in front of the Hudson Apartments.

The star is the 2,616th since the completion of the Walk of Fame in 1961 with the first 1,558 stars. The ceremony will be livestreamed on walkoffame.com.

Bateman received outstanding lead actor in a comedy series Emmy nominations for his portrayal of Michael Bluth on “Arrested Development” in 2005, when it aired on Fox, and 2013, when it was streamed on Netflix.

In “Ozark,” Bateman portrays a financial planner who suddenly relocates from the Chicago suburbs to a summer resort community in the Missouri Ozarks and must pay off a debt to a Mexican drug lord.

Bateman made his television debut in 1981 when he was 12 years old with a recurring role on the NBC period family drama “Little House on the Prairie.” He had a recurring role on the NBC comedy “Silver Spoons” from 1982-84 and starred in the short-lived NBC comedy “It’s Your Move” in the 1984-85 season.

Bateman became a teen idol in the late 1980s through his role on the NBC comedy “The Hogan Family.”

Bateman starred with Aniston in the film comedies “Horrible Bosses” in 2011 and its 2014 sequel “Horrible Bosses 2.” The two co-starred in the 2010 romantic comedy “The Switch.” They also both appeared in the 2006 romantic comedy-drama “The Break-Up” and the 2016 comedy “Office Christmas Party.”

Bateman’s other film credits include “Juno,” “Couples Retreat,” “Hancock,” “Identity Thief,” “The Gift,” “Bad Words” and “The Family Fang.”
