TreePeople is to host annual charity gala, An Evening Under the Harvest Moon at its 45-acre park headquarters nestled in the heart of Los Angeles. The benefit is to celebrate the people and partners who support TreePeople’s vision for a climate-resilient city and drought defense strategies.
Honorees include California State Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de León for his commitment to environmental stewardship, as well as the The Greater LA Water Collaborative, and Huntington Park Community Green Team, a group of young people from one of LA’s most tree-poor neighborhoods has recruited volunteers, planned and executed tree planting and tree care events and has even gone door to door to survey neighbors to s collect valuable research.
Mid-century classic music will be provided by DJ ShanLynn along with a special performance by the Foshay Learning Center’s Jazz Ensemble. Schaffer’s Genuine Foods will be serving a drought-friendly plated vegan and vegetarian dinner.
