Former U.S. Army Sgt. David Harman of Torrance will be honored as the Military Hero of the Game at today’s Los Angeles Dodgers- Tampa Bay Rays interleague game at Dodger Stadium.
Harman joined the Army as an infantryman in 1992. His first duty station was in Panama, where he met and married his wife, Jennifer, who was also stationed in Panama serving in the Army.
Harman served one tour in the Middle East as a Patriot Missile Team Leader with Air Defense Artillery. Upon returning home, he was seriously injured on duty, resulting in medical retirement from active duty in 2000.
Harman’s military achievements include earning the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, Parachutist Badge and Air Assault Badge.
