Eugenio Derbez received the 2,576th star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame yesterday, honoring a career as an actor, writer, director and producer that has made him one of the most influential creative forces in Latin America.

Derbez, 54, thanked his parents for introducing him to the world of movies as a child.

“Movies got inside my heart, under my skin,” he said. “So thanks mom, thanks dad, for infecting me with the virus of the show business.”

The ceremony came six days before the release of Derbez’s latest film, “Miracles from Heaven.”

Derbez starred, directed and co-wrote “Instructions Not Included,” the most successful Spanish-language film in the United States and worldwide. He also created, starred in and directed the award-winning Mexican television comedy “La familia P. Luche.”

Derbez was a cast member of the 2012 CBS comedy “Rob!” He appeared on Broadway in 2005 in “Latinologues.”

Derbez’s other film credits include “Sangre de mi Sangre,” “La Misma Luna” “Jack and Jill” and “Girl in Progress.”

Derbez recently opened a Los Angeles-based television and film production company, 3Pas Studios, which has a first-look film deal with Lionsgate and Pantelion Films and a first-look television deal with NBCUniversal.
