A big rig crashed through the center divider of the Santa Monica (10) Freeway in the Mid-City area today, blocking lanes in both directions, authorities said.
The crash occurred about 5:30 a.m. at La Brea Avenue, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The truck was westbound when it crashed through the center divider, ending up partially on the eastbound side of the freeway, the CHP reported. One person suffered minor injuries.
Four lanes closest to the center divider were closed on the westbound side, and two lanes closest to the center divider were closed on the eastbound side, the CHP reported.
Traffic was snarled in the area while crews worked to clear the scene. The cause of the crash was under investigation.
