All-star outfielder Yasiel Puig will pose for pictures with fans from approximately 11:30 a.m.-noon today during the Viva Los Dodgers festival before the Los Angeles Dodgers-Arizona Diamondbacks game at Dodger Stadium.

Puig will also select a youngster at Viva Los Dodgers to throw the ceremonial first pitch in connection with Kids’ Yasiel Puig Replica Jersey Day. The first 15,000 ticketed children age 14 will receive a Puig kids replica jersey.

Musical entertainment will be provided by the Latin pop/rock band Sonsoles and recording artist Danny Mercer. Mercer will also sing the national anthem and “God Bless America”.

Tim Leary, who won a career-high 17 games for the Dodgers 1988 World Series championship team, will sign autographs from noon-1 p.m.

Viva Los Dodgers begins at 11 a.m. and is held at Dodger Stadium’s 76 station. Fans are encouraged to arrive early for the chance to have their pictures taken with Puig.

Billy Ashley, a Dodger outfielder from 1992-97, will sign autographs in the left field pavilion from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

The Military Hero of the Game will be U.S. Army Spc. Andrew Zapata of Colton, who served a deployment to Kuwait last year and is stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas.

Today marks the start of Major League Baseball’s Play Sun Smart effort to promote sun safety, raise awareness of skin cancer and offer prevention and detection tips.

Fans are asked to practice safe sun behaviors and find a free skin cancer screening in their area by visiting the website of the American Academy of Dermatology, PlaySunSmart.org.

Auto gates will open at 10:30 a.m. and stadium gates at 11 a.m. Pregame ceremonies will begin at 12:55 p.m. for the 1:10 p.m. game, the last of a six- game homestand. The Dodgers will return to Dodger Stadium May 11 to begin a three-game series against the Miami Marlins.
