A power outage knocked out electricity to more than 700 Department of Water customers in the Mid-Wilshire area today, but most had their service restored this afternoon.
The outage, caused by underground equipment failure, began about 10:30 a.m. and originally affected 722 customers, according to DWP spokeswoman Carol Tucker.
About 75 percent of the affected customers had their service restored by midday and the rest were expected to have their power back in the next several hours, Tucker said.
