A Malibu house belonging to actor Pierce Brosnan was damaged by fire, authorities said today.
The fire broke out in a garage of the residence in the 31000 block of Broad Beach Road around 9:48 p.m. Wednesday, said Los Angeles County Fire Department Dispatch Supervisor Michael Pittman. Fifty firefighters had the blaze knocked down in 35 minutes, he said.
No injuries were reported, and the fire was confined to the garage, Pittman said.
A member of Brosnan’s family told media at the scene that no one had been injured, a videographer reported said. Broadcast footage from the scene showed Brosnan, a 61-year-old Irish actor, speaking to a firefighter outside his home.
Pittman said the cause of the fire was under investigation.
