A motorist was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and seven vehicles were impounded for 30 days during an overnight checkpoint in Malibu, a sheriff’s sergeant said today.
Sixteen unlicensed drivers were arrested and sent to court and eight drivers with suspended licenses were arrested and sent to court during the checkpoint at Pacific Coast Highway and Webb Way, that occurred from 7 p.m. Friday and 3 a.m. today, said Sgt. Daniel A. Dail of the sheriff’s Traffic Services Detail.
During the checkpoint, two motorists were cited and released for misdemeanor traffic warrants, one motorist was arrested and booked for a misdemeanor arrest warrant and another motorist was arrested for allowing an unlicensed driver to drive, Dail said.
Also, three vehicles were stored for one day during the checkpoint, he said.
