Wind-related damaged and knocked down power lines in parts of Malibu overnight, affecting electricity that powers a number of traffic signals, authorities said today.
Signals were darkened along Pacific Coast Highway at intersections with Heathercliff Road, Zumirez Drive, and Kanan Road, according to the sheriff’s Malibu/Lost Hills Station. Deputies were deployed to direct traffic.
Other problem areas:
— utility wires were downed in the 4200 block of Ocean View Drive, blocking part of the roadway;
— power lines were downed in a cul-de-sac in the 6300 block of Sycamore Meadows Drive, blocking part of the roadway;
— and a tree was knocked down on Fernhill Drive, blocking part of the roadway.
The Malibu Civic Center was not affected.
