Video released of Rolex thieves who held a 69-year-old woman down in Hollywood

LAPD-badgePolice today circulated a video of several suspects who held down a 69-year-old woman in Hollywood as an accomplice used a cutting tool to remove her Rolex watch and gold bracelet, injuring the victim’s wrist.

The woman parked in a rear alley in the 300 block of S. La Brea Avenue about 12:45 pm on Oct. 30, and a vehicle containing four people pulled up behind her, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

As the woman got out of her vehicle, three suspects rushed out and surrounded her, police said.

“Two suspects held her down while the other used an unknown tool to cut a Rolex watch and gold bracelet from her wrist, which resulted in a laceration,” according to an LAPD statement.

The three male suspects – each of them white or Hispanic, about 6 feet tall and around 220 pounds – fled in a black mid-2000s four-door BMW 740iL with paper plates and tinted windows, police said. A description of the driver was not provided.

The suspect who cut off the watch and bracelet was wearing a silver jacket and silver pants. One of his companions, who held the woman down, wore a black hoodie and black pants, while the other wore a black hoodie and blue jeans, police said.

Wilshire Station robbery detectives believe the suspects have victimized others in the area and urged anyone with information that could help identify them to call Senior Lead Officer D. Cordova at 213.793.0650. After-hours and weekend calls can be directed to 877.LAPD.24-7, and anonymous tips can be provided by calling Crime Stoppers at 800.222.TIPS.
