Sharing the Bounty Delivers Dinner for Local Homeless Farmers’ Market, Top Restaurants and Local Farmers Donate Meals to PATH

Fresh cut meats, fruits and vegetables were donated to more than 150 homeless individuals and families at People Assisting the Homeless (PATH) shelters in Hollywood and Los Angeles last week. PATH is a non-profit organization working to end homelessness for individuals, families and communities.

Slated to be served at the “Sharing the Bounty” Farmers’ Market 20th anniversary dinner on Thursday, September 18, staff from the City of Beverly Hills picked up donations from participating Sharing the Bounty restaurants and ranchers, and delivered it to the local shelters. Participating restaurants included Bouchon, SPAGO, Via Alloro, Il Ceilo and Crustacean.

“Although it’s not the community dinner we originally planned for, the City of Beverly Hills, local chefs and farmers still wanted to share the bounty and assist the homeless. Local farmers donated food, restaurants prepared fresh dishes and we honored the 20th anniversary of the Farmers’ Market by providing dinner to local shelters,” commented Greta Dunlap, Beverly Hills Farmers’ Market Manager.

With a storage room full of canned tuna, box soup, potato chips and condiments, PATH was thrilled to cook with fresh ingredients, high-quality meats and locally grown produce. “These are ingredients I dream about,” stated Miguel Llorente, PATH’s head chef.

“This effort is a great salute to Beverly Hills’ generous community of restaurateurs, farmers and ranchers. When we delivered the food to PATH, people were very thankful,” commented James Latta, Human Services Administrator.

PATH is an integral part of the City’s social services and provides food and shelter to homeless individuals in Beverly Hills and throughout the Los Angeles area. The Hollywood shelter is located at 5627 Fernwood Ave. The Los Angeles shelter is located at 340 N Madison Ave.
