Dodger fans who have been unable to watch the Boys in Blue due to a season-long dispute over broadcast rights for Time Warner Cable’s exclusive sports network will be able to tune in to the team’s final six games, the cable company announced today.
Time Warner Cable will broadcast the final six games on KDOC, an independent station available on most cable and satellite providers — including DirecTV — and also available over the air.
“TWC is part of the Los Angeles community and we’re Dodgers fans too,” according to Time Warner. “And our goal is that every fan can watch every game. Unfortunately, that has not been the case because other area TV distributors have refused to carry the channel. We can’t change that fact right now, but with the Dodgers in an exciting race for the NL West, we don’t want anyone to miss this pennant chase.”
The games available on KDOC will be the three-game series against the division-rival San Francisco Giants Sept. 22-24 and the three-game Colorado Rockies series Sept. 26-28.
Dodger games this season have been broadcast on TWC’s SportsNet LA station, which is generally available only to Time Warner Cable subscribers.
That left fans who have DirecTV or other cable/satellite carriers unable to watch the games.
