About 324 customers are without electricity today in a mostly residential section of Beverly Hills.
The power outage was reported to Southern California Edison at 6 a.m., said utility spokeswoman Jennifer Manfre.
At one point there were about 1,300 customers in the dark, but the utility department’s switching center was able to restore power to a little more than 900 customers, said Manfre, who added it was not immediately known when there would be full restoration.
“If it (the outage) happens in the right place, they (the switching center) can isolate the system and re-route the system,” she said. “Crews are on their way. We do have some equipment that is not functioning properly.”
