One person was fatally stabbed and a second injured in an early morning attack near the Expo Line’s Western Avenue station, police said on June 7.
The victims were near the Expo Line tracks, at Exposition Boulevard and Western Avenue, around 5 a.m. The first person was approached by a suspect who had just exited a vehicle and then stabbed with a knife, Officer Nuria Vanegas of the Los Angeles Police Dept. (LAPD) Media Relations Section said.
The first victim got away from the attacker after suffering unspecified injuries, but the suspect then fatally stabbed a second, nearby male victim, who was taken to a hospital by private party, Vanegas said.
No information was available about the suspect, who remained outstanding, Vanegas said.
