A man allegedly waved a gun at a worker at an apartment building in Palms on May 29, and officers were trying to locate him, Los Angeles police said.
Officers were called to the 3667 Overland Ave. about 2 p.m., said Sgt. Carlton Jeter of the Los Angeles Police Department’s Pacific Station.
The man was reported to have wielded a firearm resembling a shotgun but it may have been an Airsoft gun, Jeter said.
Officers at first thought the man was holed up inside his apartment, but late this afternoon it appeared he was no longer at the location, Jeter said.
A search of the premises was underway to make certain the man was no longer at the scene, he said.
