On March 20, 2013, at the LUXE Hotel in Brentwood, University Synagogue’s “2013 Heroes Among Us Gala†annual fundraiser will honor Palisadians Janet and Tom Unterman, and Donna Shapiro, as well as Michelle and Gary Schoenfeld of Brentwood.
The festivities will celebrate a wonderful and worthy group of honorees while raising vitally necessary funds to continue the Temple’s mission to bring Jewish values and traditions to all of the youth in our Synagogue community.
The honorees have been instrumental supporters of University Synagogue and many other terrific causes throughout Los Angeles and beyond.
“I am thrilled with our group of honorees,†said event co-Chair and Trustee of the Congregation, Nancy Stark. “They all have such wonderful history with University Synagogue and have given so much of their time and support to enrich our entire community.â€
The online and silent auction is expected to have over 100 items up for bid, including unique weekend getaways, dinners at some of L.A.’s best restaurants, Dodgers and Lakers tickets, gift baskets, and much, much more.
“The evening will be spectacular,†said Lisa Cohen, event co-Chair and Vice-President of Ways and Means. “Our committee is putting together an amazing and memorable night.â€
“Having an online auction is so exciting,†added Lisa. “Everyone in our community can go on the site and bid on items beginning, whether they are able to attend the Gala or not.â€
