Bah Humbug! While entertaining out-of-town guests last year, my wife and I drove around the Westside to view the Christmas lights and decorations. From the “Grove†at Third and Fairfax, through Beverly Hills and Westwood the decorations and lights were very impressive. Saving Brentwood for the last, we finally turned on to San Vicente Boulevard off Wilshire. By the time we got to Barrington Avenue, we were praying for Christmas lights–not traffic lights. Some one in the group did spot a lonely twelve inch Christmas tree in the local gas station window which candled my excuse of a power outage in the neighborhood. I was once told that some store owners and merchants rely on this holiday season for 60 % to 70% of their sales for the year. So, come on all you Santas out there. Lets get the Brentwood business district back on the Candy Lane†tour for 2012 before it’s too late!
Merry Christmas and
Happy Holidays from the

I read, with interest, the article by Teri Redman Kahn concerning her “Status Car,†which you printed in your November 15 issue of the Brentwood News. I would suggest that a follow-up piece would be in order because of the other services and features which are offered by such a car.
Specifically, there are other owners of this new “Volt†, such as Donald Keller, who are using their car to facilitate the transportation of the elderly in our community. Mr. Keller is well known in Brentwood and serves the community in many ways. An article in your newspaper will generate interest among our community.
