BCC Highlights

There was much discussion about a new stop sign installed at the corner of Mayfield and So. Bundy. Some think the stop sign is good because it slows down those who otherwise might be tempted to speed. Others think the sign causes traffic to back up, especially during rush hour. Another Bundy-related issue is the possibility that the city will install bicycle lanes on both sides of the street. This could take up car lanes and also require the removal of an estimated 300 parking spots on So. Bundy. The South Brentwood Homeowners Association wrote a letter to the city opposing the bike lanes because of their feared impacts on traffic and parking.

Brentwood Council Seeks Representatives
There is an opening for a Public School Alternate on the BCC Board-

Qualified candidates are:

1) affiliated with a public school in the Brentwood community (e.g. involved parent, teacher, or administrator).

2) Willing to serve a two-year term and committed to representing the interests of Brentwood’s public schools on the BCC.

3) Able to act as liaison with other public schools in Brentwood.

E-mail access is required. Also expected is regular attendance at the BCC meetings held the first Tuesday of each month at the Brentwood Kaufman Library, and willingness to participate on committees. Annual dues are $100.

There is an opening for a Ministerial/Congregational Alternative on the BCC Board.In addition to the basics, above (email access, etc.), qualified candidates are:

1) affiliated with a congregation in the Brentwood community (e.g. involved parishioner, minister, or administrator).

2) Willing to serve a two-year term and committed to representing the interests of Brentwood’s local congregations on the BCC. Go to www.brentwoodcommunitycouncil.org to learn more.
