Landry Design Group, Inc. (LDG) established in 1987 by Richard Landry, AIA, remains at the pinnacle of residential design with its four wins at the 48th Annual Pacific Coast Builders Conference (PCBC).
LDG garnered the prestigious Grand Award in the custom homes over 6,500 square feet category for the KFA residence, a unified series of structures that cascade down a hillside which, together, form a beautiful modern residence. The firm won three 2011 Merit Awards for the BGR residence (in the custom home over 6,500 square feet category), and the Schlesinger and Appel residences (in the custom home categories for 4,000-6,500 square feet and under 4,000 square feet, respectively).
The Golden Nugget Awards recognizes excellence and innovation in design and building throughout the world. Awarded annually during the PCBC, Gold Nugget recipients are known for their creativity and innovation in addressing complex design/build issues. More than 600 people, including residential builders, developers, architects, investors, product manufacturers and advisers in the industry, attend the awards ceremony sponsored by Builder magazine and the California Building Industry Association.
“A home is a very personal statement. It is a direct reflection on the resident’s taste and sensibility,” says principal Richard Landry, AIA. It is this belief that underlies LDG’s unique architectural style, which results in custom-made solutions that stem from the client’s personal desires, rather than rigid architectural traditions.
LDG works on large and small scale commissions throughout the world. Founder Landry was named by Architectural Digest as one of the top 100 architects/designers in the world. In 2004 he was presented with the prestigious “Stars of Design” award from the Pacific Design Center and in 2007 he became a part of the “Robb Report Recommended” list of best architects.
