SHARE Hosts 57TH Annual “BOOMTOWN†Event

Actress, author, humanitarian and philanthropist, Jamie Lee Curtis, was this year’s recipient of SHARE’s “Shining Spirit Award†. Jamie Lee Curtis is the daughter of Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh, who was a longtime, active member and one-time President of SHARE. Tony and Grammy Award winning performer and the original “DREAMGIRL†, Jennifer Holliday, brought the house down with her passionate rendition of “And I’m Telling You.†Also, performing were comedian Larry Miller and Fred Willard emceed. “We took a year off to let the economy come back a bit and I was concerned that people had forgotten about us and we would have a difficult time raising money,†explained SHARE President Maxine Smith. “I’m so happy to say that I need not have worried. Our event Saturday night was filled with a ‘new energy’ and I loved seeing many new, young faces in the audience…..SHARE is like the ‘Energizer Bunny’……We just keep going and going and going!â€

Celebities attending included Kelly Curtis, Ryan O’Neal, Cheryl Tiegs, Jane Seymour, James Keach, Anne Jeffreys, Kelly LeBrock, Susan Blakely, John Byner, Sam Horrigan, Ron Masak, Ann Rutherford, Mitzi Gaynor, Norm Crosby, Ginny Mancini, Shera Falk and Victoria McMahon. And,longtime SHARE Member and past SHARE President, Marilyn Katleman was named “Member of the Year†.
