On Oct. 26, two suspected mailbox thieves were arrested in the alley behind 11656 Montana Ave.
That morning the property manager was informed that the residents’ mailboxes had been broken into. The property manager reviewed the security camera footage and discovered a young man and woman in their early 20s removing packages and bags of mail.
Later that same morning, the property manager saw a car parked in the building’s alley. The car was filled with packages. The property manager then called the police who subsequently towed the car.
That same afternoon, an alert neighbor who had seen the security camera feed from the night before, saw the pair in the alley – presumable looking for their car – and called 911.
The pair was arrested within 24 hours of the theft and found to have keys to multiple buildings and mailboxes on Montana Avenue.
