The streak of decreases in the average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County was extended today to 58 days, but barely, with a decrease of two-tenths of a cent to $3.012.
The average price has decreased 61.3 cents during the streak, the longest since a 91-day streak from Sept. 17-Dec. 16, 2008, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The average price is at its lowest amount since Oct. 14, 2010, and 4.2 cents less than one week ago, 30.7 cents lower than one month ago and 50.7 cents below what it was one year ago.
The Orange County average price dropped three-tenths of a cent today to $3.058, its lowest amount since Oct. 9, 2010. It has decreased 26 consecutive days and 56 of the past 57, dropping 62.5 cents over that span, including six- tenths of a cent on Thursday.
The Orange County average price is 3.6 cents less than one week ago, 32.4 cents lower than one month ago and 53.4 cents below what it was one year ago.
