Got a Big Event Coming Up? Here’s What You Need to Pack

It has probably been a while since you packed your bags and headed off to enjoy a big event. Wherever you are headed on your next adventure, you will find plenty of others who are out and about in a big way for the first time in a long time. Some will be full of wonder while others will be shell-shocked. Either way, it is almost certain that everyone will have forgotten to bring something important. That is because, like everything else, packing well takes practice and consistency.

Whether you are going to the holiday festivities at Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel or CES in Las Vegas, you are going to have to pack a bag and carry a few things. Clearly, what you bring depends largely on how long you plan to stay. One of the mistakes a lot of people are going to make when they get out of the house again is overpacking. Unsure of what they really need, they will err on the side of bringing everything. It is not a great strategy for a number of reasons:

  1. You will always forget something, no matter how much you pack.
  2. You have more things to potentially leave behind.
  3. Carrying extra baggage during transit is more expensive and less convenient.
  4. You will be a bigger target for thieves.

The downsides of underpacking aren’t much better. The key is to pack those little things that you will absolutely need and could easily forget. Make a list of those things before you pack. And be sure your list includes the following.

Pain Relief

If you already know the pain-relieving benefits of CBD pills, you already know you don’t want to be without them on a long trip. You can always find a bottle of Ibuprofen wherever you go. But you will not always be able to find the CBD pills you favor. If you haven’t been out very much over the past year, a big event will mean a lot of movement that you are not used to. There will be sore feet, aching joints, tired muscles, and frayed nerves. You are going to need some pain relief because you are going to experience some pain. Try not to overdo it the first day you’re there. You are going to want to do everything and be everywhere all at once. Pace yourself and bring your pain reliever.

Power Bank

It doesn’t matter how good your battery life is on your smartphone or laptop. When you are taking in a big event, you are going to stress that battery more than usual. You will be taking a lot of pictures with that cellphone camera. It’s not just the camera. It is the computational photography. Few things make your phone work harder than taking pictures. On top of that, you will crank the screen brightness up so that you can preview those amazing photos.

Your battery is also going to take a beating while finding and maintaining a cell signal. Hunting for a connection is another battery-intensive task your phone has to perform. Whatever wifi happens to be available will be saturated. You shouldn’t rely on public wifi anyway. Everyone will be hitting 1 of three carriers. There is a good chance your carrier of choice will not be the best one at the venue. Between taking pictures, high screen brightness, and cell hunting, you are absolutely going to need a power bank to get you through each day. Don’t leave home without it.

Hand Sanitizer and Face Mask

If 2020 has taught us anything, it is that two of the best defenses we have against the common cold and flu are face masks and hand sanitizer. Events like CES are notorious for the number of illnesses they cause. If you are counting on those venues supplying face masks and sanitizer, you are going to be out of luck. If they offer supplies at all, expect them to run out in the first five minutes. Protect yourself by packing the simple things that keep sickness at bay.

Whatever event you take on next, it is almost certain that you are going to love it. Love it even more by bringing pain relief, a power bank, and virus protection.
