Former U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Daboberto Moreno Jr. of Los Angeles will be honored as the Military Hero of the Game at tonight’s Los Angeles Dodgers-Arizona Diamondbacks game at Dodger Stadium.
Moreno served in Afghanistan in 2006 and 2007 as a squad leader in an infantry rifle platoon after three years in the U.S. Army. He graduated from Cal State Los Angeles in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
Grammy-winning singer and composer Carlos Vines will throw the ceremonial first pitch, one day before performing at the Hollywood Bowl.
Auto gates will open at 4:40 p.m. and stadium gates at 5:10 p.m. The Diamondbacks will take batting practice from 5:25-6:20 p.m. Pregame ceremonies, including the national anthem and ceremonial first pitch, will begin at 6:57 p.m., with the game set to start at 7:10 p.m.
