Every dog has its day, and in Beverly Hills, that day is Sunday, June 26 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Roxbury Park’s Wiggly Field., when the City of Beverly Hills hosts the most beloved pet extravaganza of the year – Woofstock90210. The Pet Care Foundation and The Amanda Foundation will have over 120 rescued pets looking for loving homes. Rescues will be going on all day.
Woofstock90210 promised to have something for everyone, with information about Beverly Hills’s first Community Dog Park that is scheduled to open late summer at Foothill Road and Alden Drive on hand. Donations to enhance the dog park will be accepted at the Dog Park booth.
Lolo and Coco, same gender dogs and both recues, will get married at the Dog Wedding Movie booth. Their Alice in Wonderland themed wedding is sure to entertain guests. More dog weddings will follow. Guests can schedule their dogs to be married at the Dog Wedding Movie booth. Wedding gowns and tuxes are provided and designed by Lola Teigland.
Maxx, the celebrity dog @maxximumdelight will be available for photos. He will also award two Dyson vacuums to lucky raffle drawing contestants. For additional photo opportunities, guests can capture their moments at the TapSnap photo booth and post on social media using hashtag #Woofstock90210.
“Costume contests are always fun.” Organizers said. “Dress Fido in a super hero, baseball or creative costume. The Costume Contest comprises three categories: Su “Paw” Heroes, Most Creative and Baseball Dog of Fame. Dogs will show off their costumes during the Pet Parade and awards will be presented.”
Dogs will be flying in the air to catch Frisbees and discs at the Disc Dogs Agility and Demonstration Show.
Gentleman Norman, a classy Pomeranian, will be available at the Pussy & Pooch booth where he will pawtograph his book, “How to be a Man,” a book that offers advice for men on grooming and wardrobe, relationship maintenance and manners. Photographed coffee table books will be for sale.
