Who is one of the top spine surgeons the “Top Doctors” list?

As one of the nation’s most sought-after experts in his field, board-certified orthopedic spine surgeon Hooman Melamed, M.D. from Beverly Hills has landed a coveted place on Castle Connolly’s 2016 “Top Doctors” list.

The honor was presented after he was nominated by his peers then vetted by the organization’s team of physicians.

Melamed was cited for his “excellent outcomes, extraordinary surgical skills, hospital appointments, medical education, training and charity work through his nonprofit, Back To You Foundation.”  He will appear in the book, “America’s Top Doctors,” a consumer guide designed to offer “independent, trusted information to patients as they search for the nation’s leading healthcare providers.”

“I am grateful for the acknowledgment especially knowing it comes from my peers,” Melamed told Westside Today. “I’m delighted that they recognize the time I spend with my patients to ensure the proper course of treatment and am willing to perform even the most complicated procedures to help them become active and pain free again.”

Residing in Beverly Hills, Melamed said that being based in the area has a big impact on his practice.

“I love the Westside community as I live here and many of my patients hail from the region,” the doctor said. “The local community has always been loyal to me and my practice and I am honored and humbled by their continual support.”

Melamed specializes in minimally invasive spinal surgery and works with cutting edge treatments involving stem cell therapy, alternative treatment options for traditional fusion surgeries and more, according to the doctor.

He serves as co-director of the spinal surgery program at D.I.S.C. Sports & Spine Center in Beverly Hills, Marina del Rey and Newport Beach, Director of Scoliosis at Marina Del Rey Hospital, Fellow of American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and member of Scoliosis Research Society.
