Baseball at Santa Monica’s Los Amigos Park is a tradition that dates back to 1951, when youth baseball teams began holding their annual championships at the park. Each of the organization’s five age groups competed in either their final matches of the season, or in the case of the older age groups, their championship matches.
Since the event lasted all day, kids were constantly filtering in and out of the park with their families. Matches were held during the entire day between three different diamonds—one full-sized, and two smaller ones for younger teams—meaning energy was always high as competitors gave it their all and were cheered on by their community.
