Metro will celebrate Valentine’s Day one day early with the second annual “Speed Dating on the Red Line” event today, helping passengers seeking to find love while in transit.

Every Red Line train between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. will have one decorated Speed Dating Train Car for registered participants.

The designated Speed Dating Train Car will be the last car on trains heading to North Hollywood and the first car on trains heading toward Union Station. Once on board, Metro staff will explain the event guidelines for participants.

Metro staff will be at the Union Station, 7th Street/Metro, Hollywood/Vine and North Hollywood stations to register speed daters. Upon signing in, speed daters will receive a wristband and Metro pin to indicate participation.

All participants must be at least 18 years old and are responsible for their own valid transit fare media. Participants must adhere to Metro’s Customer Code of Conduct.

Special guests from the Los Angeles Kings, Los Angeles Clippers, Harlem Globetrotters, Pantages Theatre, where the musical “Wicked” is playing, and the musical “Da’ Hip-Hop Wizzard of Oz” will help with the matchmaking.

Two “Metro Cupids” will also be aboard for the ride. A special flower cart and See’s Candies will offer deals for daters at Union Station.

Participants are encouraged to share their photos and experiences using the hashtag #LoveMetroLA.

More information is available at Metro.net/Valentinesday.
