A man was fatally wounded during a drive-by shooting in Compton today.
The man was standing in front of a residence in the 900 block of North Evers Avenue with others about 1 a.m. when a dark-colored compact car drove southbound towards them.
A person in the vehicle fired several rounds at the victim, said Deputy Amber Smith of the Sheriff’s Headquarters Bureau.
The victim was struck once in the upper torso by gunfire, Smith said.
Paramedics rushed the victim to an area hospital, where he died from his injury, she said. There was no other immediate information.
