The Exposition Construction Authority, which is overseeing the Expo Line’s Phase 2 construction in West Los Angeles and Santa Monica, will be hosting a construction update community meeting tonight at the Crossroads School’s Community Room.

Santa Monica stakeholders will be given information of upcoming construction activities and timelines for Expo Phase 2.

A formal presentation will be made at 6:30 p.m.

At 7 p.m., an open house session will be held to facilitate community input and dialog.

Tonight’s meeting is geared specifically toward Santa Monica stakeholders.

An Expo Phase 2 construction update for Los Angeles stakeholders will be held April 29 with the same agenda: formal presentations at 6:30 p.m. and an open discussion at 7 p.m. The Los Angeles update meeting will be held at the gymnasium of Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services, 3200 Motor Avenue. (Parking available on campus).

Crossroads School is located at 1715 Olympic Boulevard in Santa Monica, near the intersection of Olympic and 17th Street. The entrance is off 18th Street; parking is available on campus and surrounding streets.

For more information about Expo Phase 2 and the entire light rail project, which will connect the Pier and Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica to Downtown Los Angeles and select points due east by 2016, please visit BuiltExpo.org or call (213) 922-EXPO (3976).

The first phase of the Expo Line, which is already running, ends at Culver Boulevard and Jefferson in Culver City. Expo Line’s second phase would add seven new stations between Downtown Culver City and Downtown Santa Monica, including one in Palms, another in Westwood, two in West Los Angeles, and then three in Santa Monica.

Stay tuned to Westside Today for more information on other Metro meetings and construction updates for the Crenshaw, Expo, and Purple Lines.
