Shamefully, President Obama has taken nothing seriously during his administration: not the United States Constitution, not the Checks and Balances of the Federal Government, neither the will nor the voice of the American People. He does not even take the Press seriously, evidenced by revelations of Justice Department seizure of AP phone records. Instead of leading, Obama has been perpetually campaigning, promoting his own legacy, while the country suffers an anemic economic recovery, with forty-three million people surviving on food stamps, as terrorists attack our nation’s consulates across the Middle East, while Israel remains isolated, with Arab civil wars engulfing the Middle East.
A culture of sitting by and saying nothing is not new, nor should anyone be surprised that the President has stayed on the side, either to hasten losses, witness defeat, or do nothing in the face of serious challenges.
During the first months of his “historic” administration, President Obama ushered in a stimulus plan which stimulated nothing but taxpayer dollars to non-existent Congressional districts or increase the salaries for federal bureaucrats. In 2009, Wealthy Virginia socialites crashed a White House function, and President Obama did nothing about it.
He traveled around the Middle East on an apology tour for previous administrations, as President George W. Bush and predecessors were at fault for of the cult-lice religious fanaticism which terrorizes the Arab World.
President Obama lobbied for his political hometown, Chicago, as a future site of the Olympics. “The Windy City†was blown away in the first round voting.
Although he accepted the Nobel Peace Prize before accomplishing anything noble, he created political division at home and abroad by installing more troops into Afghanistan. While Iranians peacefully protested the “official” re-election of a fanatical president,, President Obama ignobly sat back and said nothing.
In his first year, President Obama’s Democratic majority in the House of Representatives pushed an abortive “Cap and Trade†bill (co-sponsored by Henry Waxman (D-California) and Ed Markey (D-Massachusetts)), which thankfully died in the US Senate. The legislation would have killed millions of jobs without limiting carbon emissions. The failed “green†Ponzi scheme which would have enriched the “rich” at the expense of everyone else.
Then came the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. With more of Obama’s speeches, the American people disliked the bill more. Through procedural shenanigans and backroom deals, Obamacare passed through Congress, but not without massive protester and disapproval from voters. As recently as last month, one of the authors of the law, US Senator Max Baucus (D-Montana) called it a “train wreck”. Democrats as well as Republicans continued to vote for repeal of the law. Based on recent reports, the law demonstrates no care for patients (or health care providers) while raising costs and diminishing access.
Other scandals which have scarred the Obama administration include “Operation Fast and Furious†, in which the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms initiated a “felon-y-stupid†gun-running scheme to track down drug cartels along the United States-Mexico border. The same weapons have been connected to the deaths of federal enforcement agents.
Oversight Committee Chairman chided the Attorney General’s office: “You should be ashamed of yourself.â€
Then there’s Solyndra, (along with eighteen other green tech companies with donor connections to the Obama administration, all of which went bankrupt, even after receiving billions in taxpayer subsidies.
Then there’s Benghazi. On September 11, Two months before the 2012 election, terrorist uprisings invaded the US embassy in Libya. Four people were killed, including US Ambassador Christopher Stevens. First attributed to a spontaneous outbreak following outrage over a YouTube video, UN Ambassador Susan Rice directly contradicted the President of Libya about the attacks. Further investigations reveal that the Obama administration altered their talking points about the attack, that the officials in the consulate had reported a rising attacks in the region, and that their requests for more security were rebuffed.
Today, the Middle East is erupting chaos, with protesters throughout Egypt demanding legitimate, democratic leadership. The previously “elected†President Mohammed Morsi was imposing Sharia law and curbing civil rights in his bid to consolidate power and enable terrorists throughout the Arab World.
The most telling indictment against President Obama, however, came not from American pundits but protestors in Cairo, who labeled President Obama a “friend of terrorists†, putting his face next to the autocratic Morsi.
Regarding the roaring uproar over his administration (specifically the Benghazi talking points), President Obama commented :
The whole issue of talking points, frankly throughout this process has been a sideshow. There’s no there, there.
In reality, President Barack Obama’s administration has been a sideshow, a disgraceful sham of leadership, lost opportunities, and outright failures. With a “train wreck†of abuses, waste, fraud, ignorance, neglect, and outright politicizing to enrich the few, impoverish the many, alienate our foreign allies and befriend our sworn enemies; with end-runs around Congress, from gun-running, to green tech subsidy failures, to the Benghazi cover-ups, to the invasion of AP reporters’ privacy, to outright intimidation of conservative groups, plus a failed foreign policy of appeasement in the Middle East, President Obama’s administration has been a sideshow, one big shameful sideshow of scandal.
