TERRANEA RESORT STEPPING UP ADVERTISING WITH BAILOUT FUND
With funds supplied largely from San Diego’s JC Resorts, operators of the Laguna Sand and Sea Resort, Lowe Enterprises of Brentwood, owners of Terranea, have greatly increased advertising to promote public support for their $480 million seaside resort off the coast of Rancho Palos Verdes. The resort had a “soft†opening in June and faced problems even before the first hotel room was occupied. A recent Lowe press release said the Laguna loan has eliminated uncertainties about the project’s fate.

BRENTWOOD ASSEMBLYMAN IS PRAISED FOR FIGHTING THE HEALTH CARE LOBBY
Assemblyman Mike Feuer, who represents Brentwood, has earned universal public support for his bill, AB52, which would prevent health insurance companies from raising rates without the permission of the Commissioner of Insurance or the director of the Department of Managed Health Care. The major health providers have their lobbyists working overtime to kill Feuer’s bill.
