Getting there
Four major airports are situated close to Orange County. They include Los Angeles/Ontario International Airport, Los Angeles International Airport, The John Wayne Airport, and Long Beach Airport. The most convenient out of all them is The John Wayne Airport. It’s the one that’s closest to Orange County, plus it offers commercial passenger services, making it easier to access the area from the airport. There are many direct flights from different cities, including Salt Lake City, Portland, and Chicago. It’s conveniently located 35 miles south of Los Angeles. Major airlines found at the airport include AirTran, Delta, Southwest, United, American, and US Airways. You’ll also be able to access rental car companies, including Enterprise and Hertz.
Getting around
The best way to get around the OC would be to get a rented car from either of the rental car companies mentioned above. It’s the easiest way to get around, and the parking fees are cheap in most places and free in some. You can also choose to walk because some of the towns are walkable. However, if you decide to walk, then consider shoe inserts designed to increase comfort. Depending on the hotel you’ll be staying in, you might also get shuttle services to get you to and from different attractions, including the theme parks.
Smart timing
The weather is perfect year-round, and there’s no bad and good time to visit Orange County. The summers are hot and humid, but the ocean breeze offers a tremendous cooling effect. Things to do
The OC is famous for its beautiful beaches and stunning coastline. Therefore you’ll enjoy different water activities such as surfing and yacht cruises. Some great beaches include Laguna Beach, Sunset Beach, and Shaw’s Cove. Among other activities you can engage in include stand-up paddleboarding, take a hike at the Red Rock Canyon or Top of The World, beach-side bike ride, your Disneyland, and visit Knott’s Berry Farm, among several other activities.
