Six businesswomen will be honored at the Century City Chamber of Commerce’s 26th Women of Achievement awards dinner at Century City’s InterContinental Hotel on Thursday, Oct. 13.
The Century City Chamber of Commerce Women’s Business Council (WBC) recognizes women in the Century City community who are not just committed to the work in their own professions, but who also mentor other women in their careers and who raise both funds and awareness for non-profits and charitable organizations.
This year’s honorees are:
Tayiika M. Dennis, a partner in the nonprofit department at NSBN LLP, CPAs & ADVISORS. She is also a CalCPA State Council member, the Past Chair of the Nonprofit Discussion Group.
Renee Fourcade, an advisor in the UBS Institutional Consulting and Retirement Plan Consulting Group. She also sits on the board of directors for the Court Appointed Special Advocated (CASA) organization and is a member of the National Charity League.
Cinny Kennard, executive director of the Annenberg Foundation. She was also the first Managing Director of National Public Radio’s West Coast Production Center.
Markley Lumpkins, responsible for strategic planning and joint venture project management, construction, acquisition and disposition of worldwide real estate holdings for 21st Century Fox corporate/production operations groups. She is also involved in the SAM Initiative and St. Augustine By-The-Sea.
Melissa Morton, partner at Gelfant, Rennert & Feldman. Her clients include artists, performers, singers, songwriters and actors. She is also involved in the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.
Sunny Nassim, an attorney with Jacobson, Russell, Saltz, Nassim & de la Torre, LLP. She is also involved in the planning, organizing and execution of fundraising events with the Farhang Foundation.
Chamber President and CEO Susan Bursk said in a statement, “This year, our honorees possess incredible talents across various industries. The Chamber is more than proud to honor this inspiring group of business professionals, who dedicate their time and hearts to philanthropies that matter to them.”
The featured speaker at the Oct. 13 gala will be Think Thin founder Lizanne Falsetto, creator of a high protein nutrition bar and food line for active women on the go. In November 2015, Lizanne sold ThinkThin to global performance nutrition and ingredients group Glanbia Inc. for $217 million. An advocate and frontrunner of health and wellbeing through nutrition, she has raised money for The Dream Foundation and Women’s Cancer Research.
