The West Los Angeles Children’s Choir along with The Honor Choir of Bastrop, Texas, will be having a charity fundraising performance on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 7:00 pm at Mount Olive Lutheran Church located at 1343 Ocean Park Blvd in Santa Monica.
The money raised at the fundraiser will go to help the impoverished community of Sanchou, Cameroon get potable water piped into their village.
The West Los Angeles Children’s Choir, a professionally trained group of 7 to 16 year olds who sing on TV shows, commercials and recording sessions and is directed by Barbara Klaskin Silberg, (aka Mrs. Music), has already raised half of the $15,000 dollars needed to provide the first pipe to the village of Sanchou.
The Honor Choir, directed by Mr. Bill Owens, will be flying in from Texas to help in the effort to bring potable water to the villagers.
Global Compassion, (http://www.glopassion.com) is a Cameroon-based nonprofit that deals with humanitarian issues like children’s education, food insecurity and potable water, among other basic human needs.
