Every year on the second Saturday of May, fire stations throughout the city of L.A. open their doors to the public in honor of Fire Service Recognition Day. In Venice, Station 63 hosted a pancake breakfast that brought many families together to eat, play games, and see the inside of a fire station. In the afternoon, all four stations in Santa Monica opened their doors to many enthusiastic children, some of whom hoped to be firefighters themselves one day!
