Standout varsity volleyball player, Christian Lunhow ’16, was selected for the 2015 All-CIF Team in the CIF SS 4 AA Division. Lunhow was one of the 12 players chosen out of the 700 applicable in this division, and she is the fourth Archer volleyball player and the 15th athlete in all sports to receive an honor.

Archer enjoyed its best volleyball season in school history in 2015, compiling a 22-6 overall record while winning the Liberty League and two tournament championships.

The kicker? Athletic Director Denny Lennon recalled meeting with Luhnow about six years ago after she expressed uncertainty about her future in athletics. Luhnow maintained a challenging schedule, but was determined to find a solution to make time for sports. With encouragement and guidance from Lennon, Luhnow mapped out her week and developed a time management system that allowed her to participate in team sports. Now a senior, Luhnow is a three-time tournament and Liberty League Most Valuable Player, and, according to Lennon, the best volleyball player in the Archer’s school history. She has signed to join Lafayette College’s Patriots next year.
Luhnow’s stats via MaxPreps:
  • #3, Outside Hitter
  • Led archer into the Interscholastic Beach Volleyball Playoffs in Spring 2015 as a Junior
  • Holds a record of 242 kills, an Archer record and higher than the national average
  • Played tennis her freshman year
