Did Jerry Lewis, King of the Pratfalls, fake his collapse to get out of his obligations? Ten years later, renowned Comedian Steven Alan Green is still searching for the answer in the U.S. premiere of this serio-comic tale of friendship and betrayal, fame and perception of fame.
Green booked Jerry Lewis for HIGH ON LAUGHTER, a huge comedy charity show at the London Palladium, for Turning Point Scotland, a drug and alcohol charity launched by Princess Diana, that featured 15 top stand-ups from America and the UK and was filmed for broadcast on Bravo. This is his hit London and Edinburgh Festival show of his version of that fateful event – a “great backstage showbiz story filled with laughs and many gory Hollywood tales†(Top 5 Pick of the Week, The Guardian).
It is also about friendship. Jerry and Steven were friends. At least that’s what Steven thought. And when Jerry Lewis, his childhood idol, nearly dies at the show, Steven learns a truth about himself and the world of show business.
