Starting tonight (May 27) and continuing through Saturday (May 31) morning, Crenshaw Boulevard will be closed overnight between Martin Luther King, Jr., Boulevard and Stocker Street to accommodate the removal of an abandoned natural gas pipeline.
The road will closed nightly about 9 p.m. and reopen the next morning at 6 a.m., Metro spokesman Jose Ubaldo said.
The work is being done to prepare for Metro’s Crenshaw/LAX line – an 8.5-mile light-rail project that will connect the Expo and Green lines.
Detours in English and Spanish will be posted in both directions, he said. Bus lines that use that stretch of Crenshaw also will be affected, Ubaldo said.
