“The Year’s Best!†says New York’s Daily Journal. “An extraordinary piece of theatre!†exclaims the Record-Review. It’s the West Coast premiere of Todd Susman’s irreverent dramedy about life, death and life, an aggressive, ribald burlesque of mortality – an edgy, biting, bitter bash, celebrating the comic side of suicide, prostitution and God.
40-year show business veteran Susman is perhaps best known as a performer for his roles in The Taking of Pelham 123, co-starring roles on six TV series, and on stage, as Wilbur Turnblad in Hairspray.
Locked and Loaded, Susman’s first published play, stars stage and screen personalities Paul Linke (CHiPS, Time Flies When You’re Alive), Andrew Parks (Murder She Wrote, Summer Run, the cult-classic The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra), Tarina Pouncy (Lie to Me, Larry Crowne, Second City), Terasa Sciortino (Talkshow, Split Ends, Three Things-Cannes Short Film Corner) and Sandra Thigpen (The Ring, Quentin Tarantino’s Curdled, Grey’s Anatomy) and is helmed by award-winning director Chris DeCarlo (Aspirin and Elephants, Picon Pie, Love in Bloom), with incidental music by Grammy-nominated John Forster (Freaky Friday, How To Eat Like a Child). A not-to-be-missed theatre experience. Rated R for strong language and sexual references.
