Landing in Brentwood’s Library on Saturday November 13th is aviation pioneer Amelia Earhart, portrayed by actress Roberta E. Bassin.
Earhart was the first woman to not only fly across the Atlantic Ocean as a passenger in 1928, she then proved four years later she could make the crossing “alone if only to vindicate myself†.
The free performance, written by Ms. Bassin is enjoyed by people of all ages. Amelia’s words, adventures and accomplishments are a timeless motivation and glowing example for all that experience her message. “She went after what she wanted to do. It takes a lot of courage to overcome things that are in your way… to pursue your interests and have fun doing it†, says Bassin.
The Famed aviator, disappeared over the Pacific in 1937, on her attempted round the world flight. The mystery of her disappearance is cause for heated debate and conjecture to the present day. A question and answer session will follow the performance.
Roberta Bassin is also known for her notable television and film role’s including Emmy and Golden Globe winner “Indictment: The McMartin Trial” and film classic
“Barfly” in addition to “ER, The Pretender, Crossing Jordan and others.
