A paparazzo who was struck by a truck driven by singer Justin Bieber in Beverly Hills was recovering Thursday from injuries that police said were not life-threatening.
The crash was reported at 9:24 p.m. Wednesday outside the Saban Theatre in the area of Hamilton Drive and Wilshire Boulevard, according to Beverly Hills police Lt. Scott Dowling.
The man was trying to take pictures of Bieber and television personality Kourtney Kardashian, according to broadcast reports. The photographer was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, Dowling said.
Video from the scene shows Bieber getting into the truck, which clips the photographer as the singer was turning.
“The driver of the vehicle completed the investigation on scene and was released,” Dowling said.
Bieber, who recently canceled the remaining dates of his “Purpose” tour, was at the theater to attend a church meeting, according to reports from the scene.
According to the celebrity news website TMZ.com, Bieber had climbed into his monster pickup truck as photographers scrambled around the vehicle, and when he started to pull away, the man was run over by the right front tire. Bieber stayed by the man’s side for about 10 minutes until paramedics and police arrived, TMZ reported.
