The Los Angeles Guild of Puppetry and Trepany House invite you to join us for the Best of Puppetzilla Puppet Slam on Sunday, June 4th at the Steve Allen Theater in Hollywood. The puppet slam will feature original works of live short form puppetry for adults and will be hosted by puppeteer and comedian Robyn Simms.
After the show we will host a puppet slam after-party, refreshments provided.
Best of Puppetzilla will spotlight favorite puppetry acts from puppet slams past. Among the puppeteers performing will be Kate Katz (Disney, Robot Chicken), Adrian Rose Leonard (MTV, Fuse Network) , Thom Fountain (Disney, Nickelodeon), Robin Walsh (Henson, Screen Novelties), Pam Severns (IFC, PBS) , Mark Royston and Jack Pullman, and more. Styles of puppetry will range from humanette, shadow, tabletop, and hand puppetry.
Puppetzilla Puppet Slam is made possible in part by a grant from the Puppet Slam Network, a nationwide network spearheaded by Heather Henson that is aimed to connect, support, and raise awareness for the growing field of independently produced puppetry performances, slams, cabarets, and showcases.
Parking is free and we encourage attendees to bring their own beer. Details are as follows:
